About SDUA

  Founded in 1958, Shandong University of Arts is located in Jinan, Shandong, a province renowned for its historical and cultural significance as the birth place of Confucius. The university spans two campuses in Wendong and Changqing, covering more than 165 acres of land with nearly 92 acres of building space. Its library holds over 980,000 volumes.

  The university is one of the “major eight” art universities in China. It currently has 15 schools including School of Music, Fine Arts, Dance, Design and Film. Since its founding, it has nurtured generations of artists including the renowned vocal performer and pedagogue Professor Peng Liyuan. Faculty and students have won awards and titles internationally. Also on the faculty roster are prominent artists such as pianist Lang Lang as guest professors.

  In recent years, university members have garnered over 500 prestigious awards, including the “Golden Bell Award” in music, the “Lan Ting Award” in calligraphy, the “Lotus Award” in dance, and prizes from the National Fine Arts Exhibition. It is also an active participant in high-profile events.

  Shandong University of Arts has made significant strides in global education, forming partnerships with more than 30 institutions worldwide, including those in Italy, Russia, Australia, France, the United States, Japan, and Korea. Its international programs include academic exchanges, student and faculty exchanges, joint performances and exhibitions, dual undergraduate and master’s degree programs, and collaborative master’s and doctoral programs. The university regularly invites international experts to give lectures and masterclasses. Its faculty includes 11 doctoral advisors, 1 professor emeritus appointed by foreign universities, and 1 Honorary Academician (Accademico d’onore) selected by the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in Italy.
